Pastor Rick and Dana Cummins have been with Abundant Life Fellowship since February, 1992 working as Associate Pastors focusing on Youth, Children, Young Married, and Music Ministry. Rick has been an ordained minister for 20 years and as of March 2005 responded to the call of Senior Pastor. 

In 1986 Rick moved his family from Plymouth, Indiana to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to attend Jimmy Swaggart Bible College and served there at Family Worship Center as an Associate Pastor to the Bus Ministry. During the next 3 years Pastor Rick and Dana worked in the Bus Ministry ministering to over 1500 inner-city kids each week. Pastor Rick coordinated and supervised over 30 buses and over 100 volunteers. In December, 1990, they left the bus ministry and helped start a small inner-city church located in downtown Baton Rouge. In February, 1992 they accepted a position here at Abundant Life Fellowship.

Pastor Rick believes prayer is vital and strongly encourages Christians to develop a consistent prayer life. He has a strong conviction that the church should equip the Saints to build the Kingdom of God; that every Saint should be endued with power; that they have within them a gift that must be exercised in the body of Christ. That the church should take the Gospel to the world and the message of the Cross should be preached. 

Pastor Rick is a Bible preacher with a vision to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To take the Gospel to the world and to reach a changing society we must be a progressive church. He believes the message of the Cross never changes; the truth will set you free. He loves the traditional hymns combined with a contemporary style of worship. Pastor Rick believes Christians can live victorious, blessed, an dexperience the abundant life Jesus Christ intended us to live.

Pastor Rick and Dana have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren. Daniel and Karen Cummins reside in Raleigh, North Caroline with their boys Jackson and Hunter and are very involved in the music ministry at their church. Ricky and Dena Cummins and their boys Elijah and Christian reside in Tacoma and are the Youth Pastors here at Abundant Life Fellowship and involved in the music ministry.

Abundant Life Fellowship of Tacoma, Washington was founded in February 1990 by Pastor Dester Cummins and his wife, Barbara. They have been in full time pastoral ministry for 30 years before turning the church over to their son on March 1, 2005.

Pastor Cummins and his wife Barbara started in the Evangelistic field and labored for many years until accepting the call to a full-time pastorate. Their ministry has been in the Assemblies of God, Church of the Brethren, Open Bible Standard Churches, and Pastoring Abundant Life Fellowship for the past 15-years.

Pastor Cummins, as Founding Pastor, will continue to assist Pastor Rick Cummins with the Missions Board, and traveling around the USA as God opens doors.
